Business Development Manager

Marketplace Strategy – a rapidly growing digital marketing agency focused on online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Jet, and others – is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager. You will work directly with the VP of Sales & Marketing to identify, prospect, and sign new clients.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Generate leads and create business opportunities through prospecting and outreach
  • Effectively move leads through the sale process via calls, meetings, and email communication, to demonstrate the company’s value proposition
  • Create and deliver presentations and proposals, answer questions, overcome objections, and secure commitments for new business
  • Maintain a sales pipeline sufficient to support attainment of sales objectives
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Marketplace Strategy’s services, value proposition, and competitive differentiation
  • Gain a sufficient understanding of Amazon/online marketplaces, Amazon sales acceleration strategy, industry trends, client successes, market activities, and competitors
  • Play an active role in creating and honing the company’s value proposition and the positioning of the company’s service to land new business

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • 2+ years of professional, B2B business development experience, preferably in digital marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Proven success closing new business
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing, lead generation, and sales processes
  • Ability to prospect and connect with potential new clients via cold call/email, and through professional and social networks
  • Experience managing and maintaining a sales pipeline
  • General understanding of Amazon and e-commerce
  • Knowledge and experience using a CRM system
  • The role is based in Cleveland, Ohio and may require some travel, depending on company needs
