Sales Business Development Manager, Programmatic

Marketplace Strategy – a rapidly growing digital marketing agency focused on online marketplaces, including Amazon, Walmart, Jet, and others– is looking for an Sales Business Development Manager, Programmatic. You will work closely with the our teams of Amazon experts to learn Marketplace Strategy’s sales acceleration process. You will apply those learnings and work with the design, technical, advertising and content teams to help your clients increase revenue on the world’s fastest-growing retailer.

What You'll Do

The Business Development Manager will report directly to the Vice President of Sales.  The role will be tasked with developing and executing strategic growth plans for Marketplace Strategy for both new and existing client development.

  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge and understanding of Marketplace Strategy’s services, value proposition, and competitive differentiation
  • Learn and understand Amazon’s programmatic media platform, audience targeting, and overall value
  • Gain a sufficient understanding of Amazon/online marketplaces, Amazon sales acceleration strategy, industry trends, client successes, market activities, and competitors
  • Manage certain business partnerships to maintain and increase inbound leads
  • Generate new client leads and create new business opportunities through prospecting and strategic outreach
  • Attend trade shows and external events to generate new client opportunities
  • Effectively move both outbound and marketing (inbound) generated leads through the sales process via calls, meetings, and email communication.
  • Understand the specific needs and pain points of a potential clients
  • Develop customized sales materials and deliver in a consultative manner, ensure we are delivering value to prospects and demonstrating the company’s value proposition
  • Create and deliver presentations and proposals, answer questions, overcome objections, and secure commitments for new business
  • Maintain a sales pipeline sufficient to support attainment of sales objectives
  • Assist the Marketing team with campaigns, event marketing, and other efforts to generate inbound leads
Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 2-4 years experience in B2B consultative selling, digital marketing agency or services preferred
  • Proven experience in selling digital media and/or programmatic media
  • The role is based in Cleveland, Ohio and may require some travel, depending on company needs
  • Knowledge of programmatic media platforms and services
  • Proven success closing new business
  • Thorough understanding of the marketing, lead generation, and sales processes
  • Ability to prospect and connect with potential new clients via cold call/email, and through professional and social networks
  • Experience managing and maintaining a sales pipeline
  • Advanced presentation skills
  • Ability to sell to Marketing Directors and the C-Suite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Intelligence, passion, good organizational skills
  • A positive attitude, good sense of humor, and willingness to learn
  • Strong self-motivation and persistence, and an internal drive to succeed
